Crinkle Mat (Tiquilia plicata)

Natural History

Crinkle Mat is a member of the Forget-me-not Family. It grows to 10 inches in height and has dark green, crinkly leaves with deep ridges lined with grayish, felt-like hairs which grow to 0.25 inches in length. The plant grows in sandy flats, rocky ridges and dry river bottoms at elevations between below 2000 feet.
 

Crinkle Mat forms rounded mounds to 2 feet in width.

Crinkle Mat blooms between March - October and produces pale lavender to blue, funnel0like flowers with 5 lobes to 0.25 inches in width.
