Mountain Four O'clock (Mirabilis melanotricha)

Natural History

Mountain Four O'clock is a member of the Four O'clock (Nyctaginaceae) Family. It grows to 3 feet in height and has narrow leaves which grow in pairs on opposite sides of the stem to 4 inches in length. The plant grows in open woodlands or in brush on mountains.
 

Mountain Four O'clock is also known as Sweet Four O'clock.

Mountain Four O'clock blooms between June  - October and produces a pink, funnel-shaped flower with 5 lobes to 0.5 inches in width.
