Heal All (Prunella vulgaris)

Natural History

Heal All is a member of the Mint Family. It grows to 12 inches in height on a squarish stem and has dark green, oval to lance shaped leaves with toothed edges which grow to 4 inches in length. It grows in moist areas along streams, lakeshores and roadsides at elevations between 5000 - 9000 feet.

Heal All was introduced to the U.S. from Europe.

Heal All blooms between June - September and produces lavender to purple flowers with 2 lips with the upper lip forming a hood and the lower drooping to 0.5 inches in length. The flowers grow in a terminal spike at the end of the stalk.
