Hike Description: |
Walk up the sandy wash to the
north. The canyon soon forks and we'll begin
climbing up to the left. Route find your way up
a few benches until you get to a chute. Send
your best climber up the chute and have them set
a hand line for the rest of your party. A short
walk up the drainage will bring you to the top
of the mesa (0538368mE 4208808mN). Turn right
and hike cross country (around the right for of
the canyon you just exited) and route find your
way east into the head of Lucky Charms
(0538910mE 4208703mN). You will have to do some
down climbing to get in to the drainage.
Continue down canyon until you reach a sheer
fluted drop off. Good climbers can go straight
down this obstacle, but most may prefer to
bypass by climbing around on the right. The
canyon becomes very narrow below this point and
there is one moderately difficult down climb to
negotiate before the canyon widens and brings
you back to the road. Turn right and follow the
road back to your car. |
