Starwort

Natural History

Starwort is a member of the Pink Family. The plant grows to 1 foot in height and has dark green, lance shaped leaves with a deep center vein that grow on opposite sides of the stem to 4 inches in length. The plant typically grows in moist coniferous forests and meadows at elevations between 7000 - 8500 feet.
 

Starwort is also known as Chickweed.

Starwort blooms between April - July and produces white flowers with 5 triangular petals which each have a deep center notch to 0.5 inches in width.
