The next canyon is not too far away. Here's John surveying the narrows down stream. 'Hmmm ..... looks 'slot-tacular'.

Each canyon is unique, and this one is no different.
Or something like that, anyway here Ruben does a little down climb and we're into the slot.

There's a decent amount of water in this canyon, but no one wants to get any wetter than they have to.

Chuy's look says it all - another cold swim.

Mossy green walls make for an interesting scene.

This is the darkest section of the slot. It took a 2 second shutter speed to get this photo.

This is the last narrow section before the canyon opens up.
Sadly, this was my last canyon of the 2004 ACA Rendezvous in Globe, Arizona. Given the Glob / Abbey connection, and the fact that is an election season we'll end with a few non-partisan Abbey quotes on the subject of government:

A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government.
             -Edward Abbey

Democracy - rule by the people - sounds like a fine thing; we should try it sometime in America.
             -Edward Abbey

The best cure for the ills of democracy is more democracy.
             -Edward Abbey

Society is like a stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you get a lot of scum on top.
             -Edward Abbey
