The next canyon is not too far away. Here's John surveying the
narrows down stream.
'Hmmm ..... looks 'slot-tacular'. |
Each canyon is unique, and this one is
no different.
Or something like that, anyway here Ruben does a little down climb and
we're into the slot. |
There's a decent amount of water in this canyon, but no one wants to
get any wetter than they have to. |
Chuy's look says it all - another
cold swim. |
Mossy green walls make for an interesting scene. |
This is the darkest section of the slot. It took a 2
second shutter speed to get this photo. |
This is the last narrow section before the canyon opens
up. |
Sadly, this was my last canyon of the 2004 ACA
Rendezvous in Globe, Arizona. Given the Glob / Abbey connection, and
the fact that is an election season we'll end with a few non-partisan
Abbey quotes on the subject of government:
A patriot must always be ready to defend his country
against his government.
-Edward
Abbey
Democracy - rule by the people - sounds like a fine
thing; we should try it sometime in America.
-Edward
Abbey
The best cure for the ills of democracy is more
democracy.

Society is like a stew. If you don't keep it stirred
up, you get a lot of scum on top.
